Final Run Rescue is the 501c3 heartbeat of Montgomery Sky Farm - where rescued animals, regenerative land and meaningful food experiences come together to tell one healing story. The mission is simple - to give animals a second chance while nurturing a deeper, more compassionate connection between people, animals and the land they share.

Through rescue, rehabilitation, regenerative practices and community outreach, we work to heal what has been harmed - restoring lives, ecosystems and hope for a more sustainable future.

Final Run Rescue began in 2017 with the restoration of a long-neglected, century-old farm in Leicester, North Carolina. As the land slowly came back to life, it revealed something greater, a calling to create a place where healing could happen not just for animals, but for the relationships between humans, animals, and the land itself.

With Taylor’s deep respect for the land and commitment to regenerative practices, alongside Fran’s more than 15 years of veterinary experience, the rescue was built on the belief that care must be holistic. Animals in need, many facing complex medical challenges and with nowhere else to go began finding their way to us. What started as helping one life at a time grew into a mission rooted in compassion, responsibility, and connection.

Today, Final Run Rescue provides specialized, loving care in an environment designed to support healing at every level. Here, animals are given the time and space to recover, humans are invited to reconnect with the impact of thoughtful stewardship, and the land is honored as an essential partner in the regenerative healing process of our food systems. We believe that when we nurture compassion, between people, animals, and the earth, restoration becomes possible. With patience, care, and intention, lives can be renewed, ecosystems can recover, and hope can take root without limits.
